A Sacred Beginning for UPP’s Future Home

On Jun 20, Uparatana Paramitha Padanama, founded and chaired by the Most Venerable Katugastota Uparatana Nayaka Thera, marked an important stage in establishing its future office in Sri Lanka with the ceremonial unveiling and blessing of a newly installed Buddha image.

Members of the Maha Sangha, lay supporters and friends of the foundation gathered for chanting, offerings and traditional blessings. The unveiling marked a meaningful step in preparing the future office as a place guided by wisdom, compassion and service.

Once completed, the building will provide a dedicated base for Uparatana Paramitha Padanama’s charitable work. The foundation supports initiatives in healthcare, education, housing and community welfare, offering practical assistance to individuals and families facing difficult circumstances across Sri Lanka.

The Buddha image will hold a central place within the premises, serving as a reminder that the foundation’s work is rooted in the Buddhist values of generosity, loving-kindness and compassionate action.

May the remaining construction proceed successfully, and may the future office support many worthy initiatives for the welfare and benefit of the wider community.
